What Is 'Liposome Delivery System'?

by Liposomes on December 19, 2011

I see 'liposome delivery system' in the ingredients list of a beauty product.
What is it?
Is it taken from animal?
If so, does it produced through chemical process so the original chemical composition is changed?

a liposome is kind of like a shell made of a phospholipid bilayer. the inside and outside are hydrophobic and there is a hydrophobic layer in between. it’s a way to deliver both hydrophilic and hydrophobic drugs in the same product.

i’m not sure where it comes from, but i don’t think it’s from animals.
